30 Day Blog Challenge- Day 14: Thoughts on Education

EDUCATION.

I went through the traditional school system. Starting from Pre-school to 4-year university, and even an AA in Fashion Design. In general, I was average at tests and decent at school. I passed and I made it out! I feel like what’s more important is that I came out with a lot of lessons learned and life-long friendships. You learn how to get along with others, solve problems, think analytically, how to get organized, how to manage your time. You learn how to overcome challenges and persevere when times get tough.

One thing I know for sure is that you HAVE to keep educating yourself after you graduate. You have to keep educating yourself, build skills, develop if you want to keep growing and if you desire, get ahead in life.

I look up to my mom. In her older years, she is taking photography, website design and Mandarin classes. Every week, everyday after work. She musters up the energy to go to these classes. At night, I hear her practicing her Mandarin, repeating the audio tapes. I hear her reading and studying in hotel rooms. She’s very dedicated. I hope to be just as determined. I cannot stress enough the importance of education. I hope I can remember how important it is to keep going, to keep education yourself.
