If you’re like me, you catch yourself mindlessly scrolling on certain social media platforms. I have addictive tendencies. After mindlessly scrolling, you have little to no sense of time. You look up and 3 hours have passed and you’ve ignored all your other responsibilities. You got distracted 😢.
When you can’t sleep, you tend to check your phone. Going on Instagram, Twitter, Tiktok can worsen your sleeping habits. The blue light +content action keeps you up late at night. It’s a bad cycle.
The first thing I used to when I woke up was check my phone is bed, Mindlessly scrolling on Instagram anywhere between 5 minutes -2hours. I would dread going to work and I would use Instagram as an escape. It was unproductive and I would feel guilty about being late (still sometime I’m working on).
Social Media can alter your mood in a negative way. Instagram is a highlight reel and humans have a tendency to compare. We need to limit our usage and consciously consume this content.
