4 Big Takeaways from "The Story of Plastic" Documentary

  1.  In regards to any issue, ask the people who are close to the issue about how they feel about the media coverage on the issue. 

  2. Clean-ups have defined and dominated the plastic pollution narrative. We need to do a brand audit and find out which companies are responsible. 

  3. We need EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility) for plastic pollution. We can’t rely on corporations to voluntarily do the right thing. 

  4. If we truly want to confront the plastic crisis, 

  • Fight to end fossil fuel subsidies 

  • Make companies accountable for their life cycle.
