There’s 4 types of tendencies

  1. Upholder -able to uphold to inner and outer expectations

  2. Obliger- able to uphold outer expectations, struggles with inner accountability

  3. Questioner- Asks a lot of questions, and after being informed decides if it’s worth it

  4. Rebel- does not like listening to inner or outer expectations

I am an Obliger with Rebel tendencies.

Majority of people are Obligers. Obligers often fail to meet their New Years Resolutions. They need accountability. Need to go to the gym? Find an work out buddy.

If a gym buddy system, doesn’t work out for you, it’s not the right accountability system for you. Find another system. An accountability system also could look like paying lots of money for something that will get you to follow through. Pay lots of money for that Online Class, you’re more likely to finish it.

Obligers have strong ties with Rebels when they reach their limit. Old Joanne used to be a “Yes Man.” She used to always listen to her parents. Present Joanne still tends to oblige to a lot of people, but I do get fed up with people expecting too much of me and it makes me not want to do it at all.
