I made Bread! (with Little to Low Waste)

Sliced Bread usually comes in a plastic bag. I attempted to make it low waste.

I squeezed this goal into 2019! I made bread on December 31st, 2019, hours before countdown. I made the bread and brought it over to my friend’s house for a New Years Celebration! She had brie and jam to pair with the bread! My bread was not perfect. It was a little too brown and a little hard to chew. It still smells amazing and tasted good.

Everyone and their moms started making bread in Quarantine! Making bread does not seem as special anymore. :( But I’m glad more and more people are making bread at home. The more people bake at home, the less plastic they’ll bring home from the grocery store. The more self-sufficient we are, the less waste we can create. With everyone’s making bread, people have a growing appreciation for bread makers now.

I’m glad I got the ingredients back in December, because now the baking aisle is a ghost town at my local supermarkets. I haven’t seen Flour or Yeast in stock yet. I wouldn’t have been able to make some of my other baking concoctions during quarantine.

It was super cool to see the dough rise! and I still can’t believe I made bread and ate it.
